One of the best ways to keep up to date with what is happening at St. John’s is to read the weekly Parish Bulletin or register to receive email or text messages to your cellular phone via Flocknote.
In the Bulletin you will find a reflection on the scripture, a calendar for the upcoming week, a list of Mass intentions for the upcoming week, and lots of Parish and community news, including information on Faith Formation programs for children and adults, Youth Ministry programs, and Social Justice programs.
Sign-up to get information you care about most via email and text and gives parishioners the ability to share valuable feedback with the Parish. The service is at no cost and Parishioners can unsubscribe at any time. All information is stored in secure databases and is never shared with third parties. Sign-Up
A good steward shares his gifts. God’s gifts to the world, each other and our faith have been given freely. Let us do the same. Contributions to any of St. John’s funds may be made electronically via Faith Direct or by check or cash.
The Parish maintains several funds that serve different purposes and ministries:
Offertory – is the regular collection at Sunday Masses. Funds from the offertory go to support the operation of the Parish.
Building Fund – on the first weekend of each month St. John’s celebrates “Community Sunday“ and there is a second collection for the Building Fund and Community Fund. Contributions that are placed in the Building Fund envelopes are designated for the upkeep of our physical plant.
Community Fund – Contributions to the second collection on Community Sunday that are either specifically marked for the Community Fund or are not designated for Building Fund are allocated to the Community Fund. The Social Concerns Director, along with the Community Fund Board of Directors, oversees the distribution of these funds to individuals in need and vetted agencies serving the poor.
Contributions to any St. John’s funds can be made electronically via Faith Direct or by check or cash.
Faith Direct – is the easiest way to contribute. Enroll in Faith Direct or by calling Faith Direct at 866-507-8757. Your contribution will be withdrawn electronically and applied to the fund you select. No need to remember your checkbook. Our Parish code is MD 300.
The Envelope System – Contribution envelopes imprinted with your name and address are available. Making cash or check contributions via the envelope system helps ensure accurate accounting. If you would like contribution envelopes contact the Parish Office.
Check or Cash – placed in Sunday Collection, but not using the envelope system is always welcome.
